Christ is the answer for you

Dear Friends,

Theologian and professor Dr. J. I. Packer once wrote, “...we are cruel to ourselves if we try to live in this world without knowing the God whose world it is and who runs it. The world becomes a strange, mad, painful place, and life in it a disappointing and unpleasant business. Disregard the study of God, and you sentence yourself to stumble and blunder through life blindfolded, as it were, with no sense of direction and no understanding of what surrounds you. This way you waste your life and lose your soul.” (Knowing God, InterVarsity Press)

Packer makes it sound like the study of God has a lot to do with joy and meaning in this life. And we know him to be right. The Apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 1:21, “for to me, to live is Christ....” Both Dr. Packer and the Apostle Paul encourage us to be purposeful and consistent in our study of God.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, our every need is satisfied in Christ. Paul, while sitting in prison, wrote to his Philippian children, “my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”

So, if you are lonely, weary, bored, apathetic, dissatisfied, or disillusioned, Christ is the answer for you. In Him you will be energized, amazed, steadied, renewed, and satisfied. And when we are satisfied with Christ, we bring Him honor and glory. Therefore, taste and see that the Lord is good!

Grace and Peace,

Scott
